Hot Fuss

So Terry Schiavo finally passes on. The moral of the story? This was a family dispute. Don't get involved in family disputes. Just walk away. There are no winners. Just several degrees of asswipes.

Oh yes, and someone sent me this meaning I have officially seen it all.

Dear J. Lo, why so blue? Is is because your new album is a big fat piece of dog caca?

If you needed a reason to know more than ever why this government deserves nothing but scorn from Canadians, especially women, this is it. I was shocked and appalled to hear that not only do we have an ambassador in Iran (he was recalled, then reinstated), but we still are still dilly-dallying over a response. Kazemi was a Canadian citizen who was raped and killed abroad, period. Does Pierre Pettigrew not give a shit?

Money Quote

Sadly, that's been the unintended signal from a federal government that often seems impotent when it should stand firm against thugs, despots and even friends when they tramp all over the Maple Leaf passport. Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew's unsatisfactory we-knew-all-that response yesterday to this week's Kazemi revelations, while true and not as insensitive as it sounds, only reinforces current perceptions.
While the odds against results are long, Ottawa's reaction when citizens are abused is too often less than reassuring. Yes, Canada recalled its ambassador from Tehran, and just down Sussex Dr. from the Prime Minister's residence, the new Saudi embassy still stands empty in the aftermath of the ugly Sampson affair.

Against that must be measured this country's easy acceptance of the predictable outcome of the probe into the friendly fire deaths in Afghanistan, its muted criticism of the imprisonment of Canadian teenager and suspected Al Qaeda fighter Omar Khadr at the U.S. Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba, and the outrageous treatment of Syrian-born Maher Arar. These all carry the common denominator of an administration that balances national interests before fully defending people.

    Re: Kazemi

Name one productive thing Pettigrew has done since he was recruited as a star candidate?

I'm sure there's got to be an explanation why he was kept in cabinet and Dion dropped.

I actually kinda liked Stephane Dion. You could tell he wasn't really comfortable in the asswipe clique. Seeing him as eviro guy, however, is a bit weird

    Great stuff on Kazemi Steph.

I had to post it myself. You packed a better punch than I could have.

C'mon, female! A family dispute? Whatever happened to "The Private is Public?"

I guess I'll just go beat my wife now. Don't get involved, please. It's just a family dispute.
